KwaZulu-Natal Netball (KZNN)has taken another step towards growing and strengthening grassroots netball with the official launch of the "1 Ball, 1 Team, 1 Dream campaign at Ekuthuleni Primary School in kwaMashu. The campaign, launched in partnership with Gilbert Netball South Africa and aQuelle , is aimed at increasing assess of netball equipment for schools and community teams across KZN.

The initiative recognizes that access to basic sporting equipment remains one of the challenges faced by young players and communities. Through the campaign, the KZN Netball aims to put more balls into the hands of aspiring players, creating opportunities for them to participate, develop their skills and pursue their sporting dreams. The launch also provided an exciting opportunity for young players at Ekuthuleni to learn from some of the province's talented netball personalities.

A coaching clinic was conducted by Kingdom Stars Nosihle Mkhwanazi and Kingdom Queens Thobekile Mjaja, who shared their knowledge, skills and experience with the young aspiring netball players.

Speaking at the launch, KZN Netball President Mrs Gugu Ngema highlighted the importance of ensuring that every child has an opportunity to participate in the sport. "Every young player deserves an opportunity to participate in the sport. This campaign is about ensuring that no dream is limited by a lack of equipment," said Ngema.

Representing the Gilbert South Africa, KZN Netball's official ball partner, Rob Scott welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting the grassroots development. "It is exciting to see young children actively participate in sport. Sport plays a significant role in all our lives, and we look forward to growing this development partnership with KZN Netball," he said.

Ekuthuleni Primary Principal Mrs Phewa, the significance of the campaign extends beyond for the netball court. "Netball is not just sport, it is a vehicle to empower the girl child and create opportunities for the future."

The 1 Ball , 1 Team, 1 Dream campaign is more than the provision of sporting equipment, it is a commitment to creating opportunities, nurturing talent and ensuring that young players have the tools they need to develop.
