The road to the KwaZulu-Natal Netball Super League Grand Finale is heading up, and this weekend at UKZN Westville Sports Centre delivered another action-packed round of netball as Section A and B teams batted for crucial victories.
In Section A , the Cheetahs SA emerged as one of the weekend's biggest winners, securing two impressive victories and strengthening their position as the Grand Finale approaches. Cheetahs opened their weekend with a commanding 67-34 victory over Pinetown Eagles, before producing another dominant performance in round 3, defeating DUT Hurricanes 74-33. Elsewhere BSS Stars enjoyed a strong weekend, defeating Hammarsdale Sunbeams 40-30 before overcoming Ziphozonke 47-40. Ziphozonke bounced back from their defeat to BSS
Ziphozonke bounced back from their defeat to BSS Stars with a convincing 60-46 win over PMB Giants, while Unizulu recorded victories over Phongolo Mighty Queens and PMB Giants .Hammarsdale Sunbeams also responded strongly after their opening defeat, registering their a commanding 63-20 win over Pinetown Eagles.
In Section B all eyes were on Amanzimtoti , the side continued their unbeaten run with a hard-fought 47-44 victory over UKZN ,keeping their perfect record intact and strengthening their position at the top end of the section. PMB Sprinters also enjoyed a productive weekend, defeating Midlands Academy 38-35 before edging Mtuba Central 49-41. UKZN bounced back from their defeat to the log leaders with a convincing 64-43 victory over Ulundi Movers, while KNC impressed with wins over eDumbe Thunderbirds and King Shaka.
