KZN’s very own netball sensation, Vukile Prince Zulu, is about to script history as he embarks on an extraordinary journey to Jamaica, where he’s been invited to showcase his talent in the prestigious Jamaica National Males Netball League.
This is no ordinary story. This is the rise of a young boy from Hambanathi Township, Tongaat, who dared to dream big — and now the world is watching.
Vukile’s netball journey kicked off in 2020, under the wise guidance of Mr. Joe Taylor kaMhlongo. Fast forward to today, and he stands tall as the reigning KZN Netball Super League Defender of the Year, with his name already etched in the history books.
From leading the Ocean Predators to becoming a national treasure, Zulu’s rise has been meteoric. In 2023, he was part of the South African U23 Fast5 Team in New Zealand.
Vukile has been shaped by some of the best in the game. Renowned coach Never Ndlovu of JCNC has been instrumental in refining his skills, while Mr. Joe Taylor kaMhlongo discovered his raw talent and helped nurture the diamond within.
In 2024, Zulu conquered Africa, winning the Africa Netball Championships in Namibia with the SA Senior Males Team — further proof that the boy from Hambanathi was born to shine on the grandest stages.
